Explanation / Answer

1. There are four consequences of behavior, which is positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, punishment, and extinction.  

For his uncalled behavior it would be best to use extinction: taking something away, that the individual seeks, in order to decrease a certain behavior. So, when the co worker begin to talk, you stand and listen attentively and give them the required nonverbal and verbal cues of communication that propel the interaction, but as soon as they use a cuss word, you turn around, nod and walk away. Doing this each time the cuss word is used would form an eventual connection in the mind of the co worker, and dissuade him/her from using these words again, at least in front of you.
