As we move from the assessment phase to the "therapy" part of counseling, we'll have an opportunity to take a look at some of the different theories/types of counseling. One type of counseling that has received mixed reviews is etherapy. It's something that has grown in popularity and we should take this opportunity to consider it as a treatment. For this week's discussion, please read the assigned chapters in the textbook. In addition, find a peer-review, journal article, no more than three years old, that discusses the strengths and weaknesses of etherapy as a model for delivering counseling services. After doing your reading, please share your thoughts on the effectiveness of etherapy, the development of a therapeutic relationship in etherapy, and any positives/negatives you think exist with etherapy. A good way to think about etherapy or any form of treatment is to consider whether you'd recommend it to a close family member, your child, your mother, whomever. What do you think?
