Question
As we move from lower levels like the molecular level to higher levels like the organismal level we see that novel properties emerge that were absent in preceding ones. We call these emergent properties, properties that are due to the arrangement and interactions of parts as complexity increases. Emergent properties are not unique to living systems. A box of car parts won't transport you anywhere, but if they are arranged in a certain way, you can drive yourself almost anywhere!
Can you think of an example of an emerging property in the human body?
please provide details
