In the past or your current environment your School teams, company or any team you are or were a part of, what are the unfulfilled needs of that team? Are they basic survival or security needs, or are they needs for esteem, acceptance, or self-actualization? What measures can you take to assist in meeting these needs to minimize the potential for conflict?

Write two - three paragraphs that respond to the topic with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. Be substantive and clear, and use examples from the readings and your own experiences to reinforce your ideas. (Answer) At University, I once had a team where every team member, except one, managed to make their contributions in an orderly and timely manner. Because of this single team member, my team wasn’t able to submit the assignment on time and the grade was forfeited.

The professor then gave each member to submit an individual written assignment separately in order to earn back our grade. I was satisfied as I was able to earn my lost score. However, if the professor had not given the team members that option, I would have probably been a little dissatisfied with the loss of the points as it contributed to my GPA.

Perhaps, this is where the second layer of Maslow’s pyramid called “security” would be applied. I would have wanted my security needs to be fulfilled as I desired a good grade that would get me better prospects in my further studies and/or career.
