Question

What behaviors can alter the risk for cardiovascular disease?

In your experience (i.e., in the family you grew up in or your current family), what kinds of things do couples fight or argue about? Is or was there a clear pattern of such things as who started the fights, how the fights ended, what kinds of tactics the two individuals used to attempt to win the argument or fight, and whether the fights were carried out in front of others (e.g., children, parents, in-laws, or other relatives) or were usually behind closed doors?

Explanation / Answer

Heart diseases are linked to negative emotional factors as well and not just poor physical activity or diet. Constant fights in the family, between couples, children etc. can also increase the risk of heart diseases. The family that I grew up mostly had arguments related to difference of opinions on trivial issues and sometimes big decisions as well. But in my family that has never been the cause of heart diseases. Stress and tensions due to work or financial concerns have been there and that could be the reason for heart diseases. Arguments are started by anyone, there is no clear pattern.Since everyone has low patience level now and big egos the source of fights can be anyone. In my family, fights have never turned major either between couples or children and have always been settled. The tactics used are mostly having the last word and keeping one's point strongly. All kinds of fights have taken place,in front of children and even alone but it has never impacted the children negatively since nothing major has ever happened that I have witnessed.
