What advice would you offer to parents for communicating with their children who ask questions about their personal safety following incidents such as the attack at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England? What should they tell their children? Does the message "change" depending on the age of the child?

I disagree with the statement, "The United States culture teaches children to be afraid." The United States is a country which rose against the clutches of the British. It was bravery and hard work that helped the Americans stick together for a cause. The individualistic society, materialistic culture and freedom to live one’s life as they wish. The country offers more opportunity for everyone to thrive with its American dream. It’s also the superpower in the world and the security measures and social welfare schemes are really great. Attacks such as Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England will happen because there are some lunatics who are at lose to kill innocent people for various reasons but that shouldn’t stop us from enjoying our freedom and become cowards by locking ourselves inside our homes.

I would tell the parents not to scare their kids with the messages of despair and loss, instead bring them up with hope and bravery. They need to tell them to be careful about the dangers outside but shouldn’t limit the children from achieving their dreams. In my opinion, the advice should be different for different age groups. To a child, I would say be careful and follow the instruction from your teacher, for an adolescent I would say be careful with strangers and unusual events.
