Please share you thoughts and feelings about this week's material on Sex and Sexual Expression throughout the Lifetime. This is an informal discussion designed to allow for your free expression and sharing of ideas. Were there any experiences in your home life or environment when you were growing up that influenced your sexual behavior or sexual decision making? I will be looking for some focus in what you are saying. Explanation / Answer
A person’s sexual orientation, sex drive and perception about sex keeps changing as the person ages. During the adolescent age, one tries to identify one’s sexual orientation. Majority of them settle down with man and woman relationship while others think they are different and settle down with one of the LGBTQ relationship. Few other become bi sexual where they go with men and women while few others like it with many at one time. Most of my family members, neighbors and acquaintances are straight but they don’t look down on others’ sexual orientation. So, I have grown up to be a straight.
Until the age of 25, people keep exploring their options and have lots of partners but very rarely settle down with someone because of various reasons such as the individual freedom, merry making mindset of the society and more self-centered life-style. They keep having sex with different people and even if they have to beget children, they don’t worry because they would be just called ‘baby daddy and baby mama’. What was sexual pleasure becomes sexual intimacy which strengthens their relationship. Sexual drive start declining as one ages and after the age of 25, they like to settle down with one person and start a family because by this time, they would have settled down with a job and tired of living the wild life. The frequency and the intensity of their sex decreases.
