B) foramen lacerum
C) cubitul tunnel
D) acetabulum
E) lacrimal fossa
2. Which of the following movements are synonymous for certain joints?
A) protraction and extension
B) circumduction and rotation
C) pronation and inversion
D) plantarflexion and extension
E) none of the above
3. Which of the following is/are NOT a ligament or accessory ligament of the glenohumeral joint?
A) glenoid labrum
B) capsular ligament
C) coracoacromial ligament
D) coracoclavicular ligaments
E) coracohumeral ligament
4. In what plane is the orbital septum oriented (oriented vs intersected)?
A) midsagittal
B) parasagittal
C) coronal
D) transverse
E) oblique
Explanation / Answer
1) Greater sciatic foramen is located in the ileal bone. Foramen lacerum is located in the base of skull between three bones- sphenoid, petrous part of temporal and occipital bones. Acetabulum is the socket found in the hip joint into which the head of femur fits. Acetabulum is made of three bones - ileum, pubis and ischium. Cubital tunnel is bordered medially by medial epicondyle of humerus and laterally by the olecranon process of ulna. Lacrimal fossa is a deep concave depression found in the lacrimal bone which forms the medial boundary of the orbit. Therefore, the answers for this question are options A and E (greater sciatic foramen and lacrimal fossa).
2) Circumduction and rotation are synonymous in certain joints (option B).
3) Coracoclavicular ligaments does not form a part of glenohumeral joint (option D).
4) Orbital septum is oriented in mid sagittal plane (option A).
