Ingestion of food through mouth is first step of digestion..then bolus prepared in mouth transferred to stomach through oesophagus..then in stomach food is digested with help of hydrochloric acid and proteolytic enzymes.. absorption of food takes place in small intestine with the help of microvilli..and absorption of water takes place in large intestine at last undigested food is excreted throuh rectum this process called defaecation...
