Explanation / Answer

1. The topic of the speech is 'Audience Analysis'.

2. The speaker targets university students. There are three references in the speech to prove this.

Firstly, when she opened her speech she reminded the students about the what happened at the beginning of the semester. Secondly when she was talking about the safety needs, she mentioned about driving safely to work or campus and finally when she was talking about voluntary and captive audience, she mentioned that she would give extra credit for being a captive audience.

3.

A. It was effective because she started building from the old knowledge that was imparted in terms of public speaking.

B. Yes. It provided enough information on the audience analysis. She talked about analysing the Audience before, during and after the speech. She also pointed few supportive evidences about what will happen if we don't follow those. For example, if we don't maintain eye contact with the audience, they won't listen.

C. Yes, the conclusion was effective because she suggested that we need to identify who our audience is and what they really want.
