Thoughts regarding Lencioni’s tactics for overcoming these dysfunctions:
To overcome the dysfunction of absence of trust Lencioni has suggested to have open dialogue in meetings.This is a good step towards gaining trust of the employees by giving them platform to in express their views & ideas .It gives them sense of belongingness and importance.
If you’ve overcome the absence of trust dysfunction, the team will now discuss fearlessly without the fear of judgement in the meeting. Fear of conflicts can be overcome by having passive but aggressive discussion. As a manager it is our responsibility to stop the personal attacks. If we could do this then the chances of arising conflicts are very low.
Lack of Commitment can be overcome by motivating the employees to work , supporting them at bad times, training them effectively, and building commitment in your organisation by showing decisiveness, communicating awareness and acceptance of the fact that some decisions may turn out wrong.
Avoidance of Accountability occurs when th team goals does not match with the behavior and actions of the team members.To avoid this, team needs to hold each other accountable. Peer pressure helps in effective performance. Standards should be set with clear indicator to measure the performce of the team .Detailed and Specific action plans makes it easier to hold the people accountable.
Inattention to Results occurs when ego and self-preservation blocks the way of company goals.. If teammates are less accountable for their contributions towards the comapany goals, they are more likely look at their own personal interests..This can be avoided by aligning the individual incentives with their teammates.

Yes , It is effective in general and in team as well. The tactics given by Lencioni are very helpful and positive.It gives a sense of equality, accountability, motivation, and creates loyalty among the team members.It

Well it depends on the situation. There might not be all the dysfunctions at a time. So introducing it will be in accordance of the prevailing situation.
Out of DEMING’S 14 POINTS , following points have some similiarity with Lencioni’s tactics for overcoming them , They are as follows:
Lencioni’s tactics has asked to overcome the fear of amployee by having open discussion, this not only overcomes the fear but also breaks down the barriers between the staff areas.Then the tactics to overcome Avoidance of Accountability & Inattention to Results is similar to DEMING’S "Put everybody in the company to work accomplishing the transformation"
