The research question is –

“What is the role of noise and gender in a letter cancellation task?”

This question addresses the role of noise in a letter cancellation task. In other words, it talks about the role of noise in effecting the performance.

Hypothesis will be-

Number of letters cancelled in a low noise condition will be more than in high noise condition.

Girls will cancel more letters than boys.

The results will be in the direction of significant mean differences among the various conditions. There will be significant interactive as well as main effects.

This research will be an applied research because it focuses on the application of a theoretical concept of noise effecting performance.
