Explanation / Answer

Brad Bushman a professor of communication and psychology at The Ohio State University.  Jan Van den Bulck, a professor of communication studies at the University of Michigan.  Yakup Çetin of Faith University and Ömer Terzi of Yildiz Technical University.

They have published the study online in the journal named Dreaming their finding shows that watching violent and sexual media 90 minutes prior to going to bed results in violent dreams at night, The frequency of getting violent dreams is 13 times higher than a normal person. The media has an effect on us even when we are sleeping.

They conducted surveys on people aged from 10 to 60 years of age half of the total of 1287 participants were students at schools in Istanbul. And remaining were working with the social networking site that discussed this topic online.

The subjects were asked whether they had seen any violent or sexual episode 90 minutes prior to going to bed and did they had any dream violent or sexual dream. 45 percent reported consuming violent media and less than one quarter reported consuming sexual media prior to going to bed. The survey report says that people who participated in the survey 80 percent of the participants said they had violent dreams sometimes while slightly less than half said they had sexual dreams sometimes.

The survey points out that media do reflect on our dreams. Scientifically the violent or sexual media we are exposed remains in our subconscious mind and surfaces when we are sleeping.

Violent and Sex are two faces of our life. No doubt Turkey is following the rigid and strict rule and censoring the sexual media. These are a human desire that cannot be completely banned. A person can visualize things without watching and that too can remain in the subconscious mind, the United States is a free society there is no media censorship than too violent and sexual harassment is there in the society.
