Answer.
One of the studies by Kinsey et al analysed the sexual behaviour of human females. The researchers defined the research question as the exploration of the frequency with which women participate in various types of sexual activity and how factors such as age, social-economic status and religious commitment influence sexual behavior. The researchers used personal interviews with approximately 6,000 women and made a Comparative study of the female and male sexual activities. Large portions of the samples were drawn from prison populations and male prostitutes, and people who volunteered to be interviewed about a taboo subject like sex and sexuality.
The findings suggested that women were less sexually active than men. The findings caused much controversy in the general public because it conventional beliefs about sexuality and because they discussed subjects that had previously been taboo.
Kinsey received much criticism for the methodology that was used to collect data. It has been suggested that some data in the reports could not have been obtained without collaborations with child molesters which raises ethical issues about the researchers’s responsibility in reporting their participants actions if they go against the well being of the larger community.
