Applied Behvaiour Analysis is a scientific field which is concerned with applying techniques based upon the principles of learning to change behavior of social significance. As a scientific field, it emphasises on the development of a theoretical programme to change behavior by first assessing the functional relationship between a targeted behavior and the environment. Finally, the approach moves towards developing socially acceptable alternatives for maladaptive behaviours such as addiction, aggressiveness in children, etc.
