Question
Identify these components of the nephrons and collecting system relating each to their roles in urine formation: Glomerulus, Afferent and efferent arterioles, glomerular capsule, Proximal & distal Convoluted tubules, Nephron loop, Collecting duct, Juxtamedullar complex.
Describe the anatomical futures that influence glomerular filtration and explain the forces, and factors that determine glomerular filtration rate.
Identify the substances reabsorbed, the transport mechanisms, and locations along the nephron and collecting system.
Identify the substances secreted, the transport mechanisms, and locations along the nephron and collecting system.
Explanation / Answer
# many Anatomical features affected glomerular filtration rate such as filtration of Plasma protein involved negatively charged surface of capillary epithelium and basement membrane. Difference in the thickness of afferent and efferent arteriole is the main reason behind filtration. Podocytes cells present in bowman's capsule wrap around the capillaries and facilitate filtration.
Various factors affect. GFR such as colloidal osmotic pressure, glomerular capillary pressure, affrent arterilole, effrent arteriole, hydrostatic pressure in bowman's capsule ,arterial pressure and renal blood flow.
