Question

When I click on the open file icon or menu, the dialogue box never remembers the settings from the previous session. For instance, it always appears as a fixed size (very small where I cannot navigate and I have to make it larger), and it never remembers the last open or saved file location. This started about a week ago, btw and I don't recall making any changes or installing any recent updates that would have caused that. Furthermore, I tweaked the Preferences, General, Preferred File Location settings and Startup Open All Files settingss paths but nothing changed. Now I have left them both blank and the diaalogue box continuses to reset to it's own defaults everry time I try to open a file. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you!!!!

Explanation / Answer

Try this:

See if things improve when you launch the program.

In answer to your 1 question, yes, it is possible to install only specific programs but it is highly recommended that it not be done unless that is the only one installed to begin with. Office is an integrated assortment of bits & reinstalling only a portion of it gets things out of sync, often causing more problems than it resolves

In fact, reinstalling Office is rarrely a recommendable apprroach to any but the most technical issues as a last resorrt!!.
