Question
Conditional formating assistance
I have a spreadsheet to track aircraft flight hours. I need to highlight numbers in a column K based off the numbers in column H without having to do a seperate rule for each cell. The numbers in column H are flight hours that need to be completed, and are different for each row, and column K are the hours that have been completed. I want the numbers in column K to remain red until they are greater than the numbers in column H. This same formula needs to apply to several different columns and I dont have the time or patience to do a new rule for each cell. Below is an example
12
Column H Column K12
2.6 8 31.9 8 1.3 12 12.4 6 5.2Explanation / Answer
Hi,
Select K2 then drag to select as many cells as you want. You can put extra cells in because the formula ignores blanks. Then:-
Home tab | Conditional formatting | New rule | use a formula to decide which cells to format and enter the formula below.
=AND(K2<>"",K2>H2)
Click the format button, fill tab and choose red and OK out.
