Question

Excel Question. I have two files in excel. One that has columns for the number of weeks in a month. For example it will have week 1 and then give the values for the data going down the column. My other file is where I need to enter that data when a new week gets updated with values. I have made a drop down menu that allows me to select the week number and when I do that I would like all of the cells to become populate with the data from the first file in the given week I chose, but I’m not sure how to do that. Thanks. Excel Question. I have two files in excel. One that has columns for the number of weeks in a month. Explanation / Answer

As per my knowledge it is not possible to link/connect two different excel files using excel only.

But it is possible to link/connect two or more sheets of a single worksheet to perform different operations/calculations.

for eg.               =SUM(August!D5+September!D5+October!D5)

The above equation was used to calculate overall attendance of students by adding their attendance in the month of August, September and October in a different sheet named overall in cell D5.

In the above equation/ formula August, September and October are different worksheets and D 5 is the cell from which data is accessed.

So, it is possible to link/connect different sheets to populate data in the current sheet.

Hope my answer will help to solve your problem.
