Question
Compared to many European countries the US has pretty terrible leave policies. Workers who do get vacation get less than their European counterparts and many have none at all.
We also do not mandate sick leave and many employees have none. This encourages workers to come to work when sick where they are likely to spread the illness to others.
We're equally stingy with maternity leave - while many employers offer paid maternity leave it is not required and many do not.
What do you think the policies should be?
