1.In your opinion, what are of some necessary characteristics of a great potential employee for a hospitality business? For at least three of the characteristics you mentioned, explain why you feel they are necessary.
2.Describe some challenges of hiring employees with skills that match those in the firm’s job analysis/descriptions and job specifications?
3. What does the term, Warm Body Theory, refer to? Include in your response, why a company uses the Warm Body Theory of hiring, the problems it causes and how to avoid it.

1. Following are the employee characteristics requires in the hospitality business.
Commitment: Commitment is one of the most important in the hospitality business. Because in hospitality business customer service and customer satisfaction is the ultimate goal. If your employee is committed to achieving the customer satisfaction then he/she is the best match.
Communication skills: If you are in industries where you have to work with people then communication skills is the key to achieve all success. The employee must possess a good oral and written communication skill, which states that they can clearly communicate.
Teamwork: Teamwork plays an important role in hospitality business you can achieve a goal with each of the team members contribution. Single-handed you cant win the battle. An employee can be work as a part of the team and lead the team if required.

2.One can face following challenges while hiring an employee.
Salary expectation: If skills are matching from firm’s job analysis/descriptions and job specifications then the salary expectation is one of the main challenges we face.
An employee can ask for the high salary which is beyond our budget.
Joining Time: Some employee has a notice period of 3 months which is too long. When everything matches and employee is ready to join but cant joins early due to completion of serving a notice period.
Legal bond: If an employee has signed a non compete and non-disclosure bond for a specific period then it’s a challenge to hire him/her. In this type of bond, you can not join immediate competition for period of one year once you leave the previous employer
3. Warm body Theory: When company hire anybody to fill the place and do the job immediately without matching the core competency, we call it a warm body theory.
a.In some situation due to a sudden increase in demand for product, service existing team cannot perform the required task and company don't have time to hire as a recruitment strategy. Find the candidate, shortlist, conduct the interview again shortlist and finalise the best match. This would consume lots of time. TO avoid such situation some time company uses warm body theory.
b. If a company is poor and not well organised, they don't have requirement planning. Usually, this kind of company uses Warm body theory.
c.When you received an unexpected order and not sure whether this will continue for a long time i.e. it is a temporary increase in demand then HR plan to use warm body theory.
By following the way you can avoid it.
1. HIre the person who can perform the required work.
2. Before hiring, do all necessary work i.e skills, talent, abilities, soft skills required by position requires.Create Job specification before starting the hiring process.
4. Do not make decisions based on only one interview. Sometimes people have the bad day and they can not perform well. Take 2-3 interview in a diferent situation to know person ability, behaviour.
