Explanation / Answer
Solution:-
The specific ethical issues/concerns that I researched in the social media are anonymity where the identity needs to be concealed, consent from the respondent before uploading the responses in the media whether in written or verbal modes, sharing important governmental data without thinking of consequences, fabricating data to become popular, compromising with respondent privacy which leads to identification of the person creating hurdles etc. Even over-enthusiastic people can disclose risky information causing disruptions.
The researched issue became unethical as these are major issues that have been surveyed from public polls by Times India.
These ethical issues/concerns can impact the workplace in the present and the future as it brings in legal consequences to the social media channels as well as the employee. It is also linked to the trust, brand, and authenticity of news in which people get carried away. Unethical issues can ruin the image, name, and fame of the company. It increases the credibility of the channel. Compliances with the law, the reputation is safeguarded.
Some of the specific challenges or obstacles that need to be overcome to resolve or deal with this ethical issue/concern are communication barriers among employees and employers, authenticity of data with sufficient evidence to produce in media, publishing irrelevant data or images to attract customers, verification of reliable and trusted sources, and report making skills of employees with response to negative feedbacks.
Some of specific solutions or strategies for overcoming each of the challenges/obstacles identified in the previous question are improved communication, cross-checking the authenticity of data and checking for fraud data detection, providing relevant data and not hiding any important concern, sources need to be genuine and trusted partners only, and developing the report-making skills of employees by providing specific trainings.
