Explanation / Answer
An incident response team (IRT) is also known as emergency response team because we required this team when the organization is in any emergency or need help in a very short time. There is a very crucial role of IRT. When the organization feels any interruption in their business then they call for the IRT team. Mostly the public organizations have the IRT. Public organization keep IRT team for the emergency time like natural disaster etc. but now a days we can see the IRT in private sector also.
The policies of Incident response team are very simple. First policy is to be always ready for any emergency condition. Second policy is to execute the work with responsibility and the third policy is to protect their organization at any cost. So these are the three main policies of the IRT in any organization and if the IRT belongs to the public organization (like SWAT team) then their first priority is to protect their nation's people as well as to protect secret information of their nation.
Private sector like any business organization keeps IRT team for their emergency time like cyber attack. During cyber attack they always have the threat of leaking the secret information so they keep IRT to fight with this condition and also to protect their secret and important data from the hackers. So we can understand that IRT teams always helps in crucial or emergency time.
Sometimes IRT team do not do their work properly and the results have to be faced by the innocent people. To understand that we can take the example of India based company 'Zomato'. Zomato is a restaurant search and discovery service. People have to make an account have have to give their personal information before using Zomato app. So more than 17 million people made account on it. The first priority of the IRT team of Zomato should be to protect the personal information of their customer but they did not take it on the priority basis and as a result the entire customer's information easily hacked by the hackers. So if the IRT teams will behave like that then who will trust on these kinds of organization and who will use these kinds of services? So all IRT teams of the organizations needs to maintain the trust of the people and to maintain that they have to alert always and understand their responsibility.
