Write a paper of 1,250-1,500 words that presents your complete personal model of leadership.
Select the basic values that will provide the foundation for your model and identify the leadership behaviors that will result from those values. Identify how your personal model of leadership helps you create a sense of meaning and purpose for yourself, others, organizations, and society.

Explanation / Answer
A leader is an individual who is able to carry a team towards the accomplishment of a common goal. He is able to carry a team because he has some legitimate powers over them and the team moves under his influence because they have certain needs which needs to be fulfilled in collaboration with him . The leader enjoys both situational power as well as personal power. Personal power will be on account of his expert knowledge , his amiable manners and pleasing personality . Situational Power will be on account of the fact he sits on the leaders chair and he can provide rewards and he can also punnishment for non fulfillment of tasks. The leadership is a function of the leader , the follower and other situational variables. Some people are good leaders and some people are bad leaders.
But nowadays the definition of leadership has changed. The leadership does not follow any specfic model . It only ensures that the tasks are accomplished , everybody is happy and people are willing to do more . They do not want to get off the bus . They want to go on and on along with the leader. Such a leader should specific traits / values which forces followers to follow them and be with them . These values are of four types . These are individual , interpersonal , organizational and societal. Let us now describe each of these.
A Individual : Common individual values are integrety , openness , empathy , reflection , knows self & others in the team and self management. What comes out of these is :
1. A leader will always be just and fair . He will act to do right thing on a consistent basis.
2. He will maintain a strong sense of personal values while being responsive to those of others also.
3. He will always be ready to learn new things and will always be open to new ideas.
4.He will thoroughly understand the perspective of others.
5. He will always use past failures and successes to decide upon the new initiatives & actions.
6. He knows about himself , his knowledge and he knows about others also in the team.
B. Interpersonal :Here common values are Cultural Competency , Relationship Management , Communication and Group Dynamics . What comes out of these are :
1. Has competency to deal with others of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
2.He builds and maintain healthy relationships
3. He engages in active listening
4.He understands how relationships in groups change and he can make changes in his leadership style.
C . Organizational : These are diversity advocacy , innovation , change management and systems approach .
What comes out of these are :
1. He makes organization stronger by promoting a culture of diversity.
2. He will always challenge traditional ways of doing things.
3. Ensures that change takes place with minimum problem.
4. Makes standard operating procedures for each activity in the organzation.
D . Societal : These are Social Justice , Human Dignity , Global Competence and Sustainability .
What comes out of these are :
1. He strives to reduce social , economical and political inequality.
2.Ensures that human rights are a priority at all times.
3. He values global perspective.
4. Improves environmental conditions and ensures continuity of organization & its work's benefits.
My leadership model is an integration of all above values. It helps to create a sense of meaning and purpose for myself , others , organisation and society. I am a highly respected person at my work place , my social circle , within my relatives and the place where I live. People value my opinions . My greatest contribution has been that personally I am a better person not only at work but in my personal life also. The people who have worked with me all have prospered . Organizations where ever I have worked have all grown and society in large has benefitted from my opinions.
