Different business have different priorities. Depending on the business processes the organizations backup their data at regular intervals. However, in my opinion some of the most critical businesses processes that I find must "get back online" in the event of a disruption are as follows:

The processes that employer can do without for 3 weeks might include some internal data regarding the employees that might include time in and time out of employees.

However, 6 weeks is a long time and every process is important for a business. An employer can survive without some minor data for 6 weeks that might include some stationary inventory details.

Explanation / Answer

We've discussed a variety of approaches and techniques that organizations use to guard against disruptions in technology service and loss of data. Each of these approaches have strengths and weaknesses, and represent significant investments in both people, process and technology to put in place.

When thinking about the data and associated business processes that an organization must "get back online" in the event of a disruption, what do you think are the 3 - 5 most critical business processes (and associated systems) and why? Which processes (and associated systems) do you think your employer could do without for 3 weeks? 6 weeks?
