Question

System Analysis and Design:

1) Provide a scenario in which an input display screen is inconsistent and explain how both the user and the organization would suffer as a result as a result.

2) Explain how structured walkthroughs can be used to improve the overall quality of systems.

3) Suppose your IL license encodes your name, sex, and birthday month/year which can be used by police officers and bouncers to determine if you are who your license says you are. What kind of encoding would this be and what was the human reason for encoding this information?

4) Why should the training period for users be acceptably short in terms of designing a good interface? Explain.

Explanation / Answer

1. When memory bottle necks happened in the backend server the dialog step becomes overloaded which results in inconsistent in input display screen. This happens due to the non availabilty of the space and also due to the mismatch in the internal program. These scenarios mostly occured in the case of non availability of the buffer memory.

When the display screen becomes inconsistent users cannot navigate through the screens and they are not able to transact the data. Due to the number of hits server becomes overload, which in turn effects the performance of the server. This effects the entire business process and organisation has to loose their valuable business hours.

2. A structured walkthrough, a static testing technique performed in an organized manner between a group of peers to review and discuss the technical aspects of software development process. The main objective in a structured walkthrough is to find defects inorder to improve the quality of the product. Due to the detection of defects at the early stage of the project thers is chance to rebuild the software from the scratch which inproves the eficency of the design thereby improving the quality.

3. Encoding the details of particular person in IL licences helps to find the person in the population. One cannot fake their identity by this encoding. Based upon the statistics of the population this encoding is performed.

4. After the development of a particular interface, end user training is a post development requirement. A good interface should be easy to understand and should have better use interaction. With these features a user can esaily understand the usage of the interface and within a short time he get usesd to interface and training period can be completed in short period.
