You are a new brand manager for a product line of Coach purses. You are considering purchasing customer data from a company that sells a large variety of women’s products online. In addition to providing a list of names, mailing addresses, and email addresses, the data includes an estimate of customers’ annual income based on the zip code in which they live, census data, and highest level of education achieved. You could use the data to identify likely purchasers of your high-end purses, and you could then send those people emails announcing the new product line and touting its many features. List the advantages and disadvantages of such a marketing strategy. Would you recommend this means of promotion in this instance? Why or why not?

Explanation / Answer

It's in fact a good idea to implement this. By this means of promotion user may find his choice with out any search and could by the product. User browses the online website based up on the filters that are available, if she does not find the right one she will left the online site. Develop the application in such a way that it stores the browsing history related to the searches that she prefers. This helps to find us the preferences of the user.

When new stock arrives based upon the earlier preference of the user we can notify them about the product which is the best marketing strategy for already existed user. We also can notify them at regular basis about the new stock . This is exactly similar to customer relationship. By this strategy we always give the users with number of choices. This surely boosts up the customers to the website which helps in business expansion.
