Question

What would the conclusion be to the following answer from the diagram above. - which prototype would I use and why?

You are designing a user interface for an information system and you have created two prototypes of the interface. You have two ways to evaluate the interface: a) User Preference, or b) Productivity. You’ve done a survey of the end users with these two prototypes and discovered that the users don’t prefer one over the other. As a result, the decision about which prototype to use will depend on productivity. The time it takes users to perform a task is a good measure of productivity. You invited 30 users, and each user performed the same task using both prototypes. You collected data on the time it took for each participant to finish the task using each prototype. The data is presented below.

Explanation / Answer

The ANOVA test results the following output -

As the p-value of the test is less than 0.05, so null hypothesis will be rejected and conclude that there is significance difference between the effect of two prototypes.

The mean time taken by the two prototypes are 75.63 and 82.9 respectively for prototype I and prototype II. Also, the variance is comparable for both the groups. So, we can say that the Prototype I is more efficient as it takes less time to complete the task than prototype II on an average.
