Math is seriously important for computer science mainly in the fields of algorithms. For example improving efficiency of algorithms, time complexity, space complexity, etc. Probability and Stochastic Processes have major contribution in several CS algorithms. Vector tranformations, abstract algebra is used for Machine Learning, Vision algorithms. Abstract algebra can be seen as correlated with data structures of Computer Science. Plus mathematics helps you think logically, which is important to understand and design algorithms. If we want to highlight the importance in one sentence, it would be its contribution in field of algorithms.
