I need help i something on my laptop

My computer has been hanging for the last two weeks and i dont know what to do.

i suppose it was attacked cyberwise

specifications

RAM: 8 GB

HDD: 1TB

GRAPHICS CARD: 4 GB

but now after restarting it, it can take like 30 minutes to open a single file,

after opening, say you want a VLC file , it will take another 30 minutes like to open and start to play,

what should i do?

should i change operating system? if i do, is whatever causing that not hidden in the files i am using?

Please do the following things before formatting the system.

1.Right click on the Taskbar> Processes tab> do you notice some unknown program consuming CPU usage this may cause the system to run very slow.

2.Remove all the temp files located in your system this may cause system to run very slow.

3.Is your cpu fan making sound then open the cpu fan and clean the fan and insert this may lead the system to run very slow.

4.Check the C drive is full if it is full please move the data to some other drive.

5.Because of the Heavy graphics the system will run slow so please change the graphics settings.

Finally if still it is working slow please change your Operating system and make sure to instal antivirus software.
