You are the CIO of a firm investigating the implementation of a business analytics program. The executives have heard of the need for a specific set of traits, training, qualifications, and background for business analytics personnel. The executives request that you prepare a report describing your recommended approach for recruiting, training, and retaining business analytics personnel.

In your proposed approach describe:

Skills and training required

Certification needed and why

Work experience requirements

Continuous training requirements.

Conclude your report with a business value justification for why the organization should commit resources to recruiting, training, and retaining business analytics professionals.

Explanation / Answer

If i may require to hire a business analyst my approach would be selecting the correct person which having required skills.

The skills which I see for business analyst role is he must have good communication skills, documentation skills, critical thinking ability, problem solving skills, Good analysis ability. These are the main factors for the business analyst. And along with this he must have completed training on business analysis program.

Along with this he must have completed certification in business analysis certification program. Because this is the key role in the business that to this person will be first one coming into the organization for business analysis role and also he will be taking responsible position he must be certified. Also if a person is certified that means he is knowing all the process in and out in that area. That will be very helpful to the organization.

Coming to the work experience he must have minimum 5 years of experience. He must have worked in multiple projects. And should have good experience in analytics and can be capable of handling difficult situations.

And als that person must get trained continously in his area of work depending upon the requirements of projects and clients and technology. Also he must be open to give continuous training and support to the fellow team mates or as and when required.

Business analysts are the key members in the project as well as in the organization also. They handle all the hurdles raised and they will analyze the situation and can stop happening worst. In sometimes they need to handle the whole project and also they are responsible to get the work done and to interact with the clients. Because of all these dependencies organizations take utmost care in recruiting this people.
