LAB PROJECT 16.2:

FIND AT LEAST TEN PIECES OF SPAM MAIL FROM ANY ACCOUNT, WHETHER IT BE HOME, WORK, SCHOOL, OR SOMETHING ELSE. USING THE E-MAIL HEADERS, AND ANY WEB SITE THAT MIGHT PROVIDE INFORMATION,ATTEMPTS TO TRACE THE SPAM MAIL BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL SOURCE.

YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS:

1)COLLECT THE E-MAILS AND VIEW THE E-MAIL HEADER INFORMATION IN YOUR E-MAIL PROGRAM.

2)FIND THE "RECEIVED" FIELD IN THE HEADERS AND WRITE DOWN AS MANY DNS NAMES OR IP ADDRESSES AS YOU CAN .ALSO LOOK FOR COMMON DETAILS IN THE HEADER ELEMENTS OF THE DIFFERENT MESSAGES, SUCH AS THE SAME E-MAIL SERVERS AND SPAMMERS.

SOLUTION:

According to the given data the following data illustrates that is ;

àwe can consider the SPAM as a repeated and unrequested that means that they did not have an acess to the account but they will acess through our mails that may or may not leads to the containing of the malware or it may have the phishing sites and here we can discuss some techniques refer to the concept SPAM,

A). Blacklisting the spam:

àWe can blacklist certain known spam sender and then our email provider will block these spams and move them to trash. It is not perfect prevention but is better than doing nothing.

We can go certainly through by blacklisting the spam ,so that we can’t get that type of mails by the email service provider,they will block them from the source file ,but its better .

B). Email service:

àStudy thoroughly about the mail account that what we use beacuase if we unaware about them means we will definetly be in a trap of some fraudsters,so email has a service that filters the spam and make them in a one folder which is called as promotions ,so that they’ll become an alternative mails compared to the primary one’s

C). Educate about spam:

àPrevention is better than cure ,and in the same way we need to educate or aware the people that who don’t knows about them,beacuase if they accidentally or unknowingly accessed through it then they can reflect a serious problems towards them,thus educating about the spam for the mail users need to be must.

D.) Anti-Virus:

àThe anti-virus main function is to detect and remove the unwanted files that are stored in the software or in the computer similarly for the email also it will check unwanted mails and removes them and makes it to trash,so that we will not get in phising attack or some fangerous cyber attacks.
