It would be difficult to explain the same information to your client in words rather than in images, the reasons are given below:-
1- System scope can not be understood with only text/words because it is possible with the help of graphical representation of DFDs.
2- Client can not understand the system components with text/words although a graphical representation of DFDs is required for the same.
3- Client can not understand the flow of data between various modules without a pictorial representation of DFDs. The flow of data can not be described through words.
4- Client can not visualize the connections between various modules without seeing logical image of connected modules together via DFDs. The connections can not be described through words.
5- Client can not understand the location & linked process behavior of a data store, without seeing the DFDs. Data store location & linked process behavior can not be described through words.
6- The summary of a system can not be described through words because DFDs confer advanced level summary of a system.
We can use DFD to troubleshoot with our IT team in the following ways:-
1- Identification of problems related with various modules.
2- Knowing the exact reasons of problems and make a principle for rectification.
3- Testing of various modules for better productive results.
4- Testing for accuracy of results.
5- Reducing the complexity of the system.
