Its failure in Canadian markets, the Christmas data breech a few years ago and its loss of market share (to Amazon most likely) are two of its recent challenges. Within the last month one industry analyst suggested that Target might be a takeover target for Amazon. Target was once the model for upscale discount stores but that no longer seems to be the case. Answer the following question then enter your group’s discussion: How should Target position itself in this new retailing environment and what changes will it have to make to get to that new position?

Changes Required:

1. Reach of the store across countries.

2. Come on the online platform, wherein supply should be world wide

3. Improvise on the logistics , so that more no. of goods can be transferred in least possible time, without affecting the quality of goods.

4. Should have a tie-up with local vendors, who can replenish with same goods, if not available in ware house.Also , this tie-up will give Target , opportunity to use local vendor's space, at some reasonable cost, for keeping Target's own supplies.This can save cost involved for rent.

5. Channelising product sales,with the help of social media , as it is one of the strongest mode of communication and marketing as well now.
