Ans:- There are various barriers to healthcare industry in rural areas like:-
a). The presence of doctors in rural area is very less. Doctors don't want to work in rural areas and even the doctors deployed in government hospitals don't take their duty seriously.
b). The availability of medicines in rural areas is also a challenge because of gap in supply chain infrastructure.
c). The availability of critical care and intensive care facilities are seldom present in rural areas. People have to move to urban areas in case of any emergency.
d). The diagnosis facility to test medical reports are also hardly present in rural areas. For any major tests like MRI, CT scan etc , patients have to move to the urban areas.
Similarly, there are various barriers to healthcare industry in urban areas like:-
a). The charges of doctors or hospitals are very large and it is very hard for a common man to pay such charges.
b). There are also instances where hospitals prescribe unnessary tests or medicines just to increase their revenue. The number of days for which the patient is admitted in a hospital also get increased by hospital to inflate the medical bills.
c). There are also instances where hospitals take advantage of mediclaim policies and produce false bills. The insurance companies are highly affected due to it.
d). The availability of generic drugs are supressed to increase the sales of private companies drugs.
