An agile project management is more efficient as it increases productivity, enables the team to work more efficiently due to daily task allocation, is flexible to accomodate changes, consists of small cycles that are easily managable and consists of iterative improvement to make the final product better.
An example of efficiency in business world is Apple genius bars where one can see the power of communication in customer service to address the issue promptly and efficiently.
A project manager is able to see a bigger picture as he is given better visibility of the situation due to simple plan. He /she can implement continuous improvement at work, able to accomodate the changing priorities and allocate the tasks more efficiently thus improving the outcome.
The contrasting features of the agile, which has lots of frameworks under its name, can be seen as the lack of training and competencies in team members with regards to different frameworks, making it difficult to align the different competencies towards a single goal. Other issue is the organisation's compatibility with the agile framework, owing to its cultural aspects and attributes, often leading to negative outcomes than improvement.
Efficiency enhances teamwork among the members, improves communication within and outside the teams, leads to better collaboration with the customers and uses an interative model leading to continuous improvement, enhancing the quality of end product. It is important as it eliminates the communication barriers and improves productivity of teams.
