Explanation / Answer

Recently during a company's internal Operations meet, there were poeple from all over the country from different plants. We were supoosed to form a team and do a task together as a part of the activities planned. teams were picked by Organizers and they made sure all participants in a team do not know each other. After the introduction we were supoosed to have the first task of solving a paper riddle. as per tuckmans model the team moved from forming to storming stage while solving the riddle. there were arguments and all team members were trying to prove their point. In the same game only team moved to norming stage when the team found a leader who was good at solving and was handling and litsening to everyone while solving the riddle. When the team member took the lead team moved to norming stage and there were more discussions rather than arguments and because of leaders interventions people started to listen each other. later the team moved to performing stage and start solving the riddle together. and once the riddle was solved, our team was adjourned.

as a manager/leader one could take the following steps at each stage

1. introduction-manager should introduce the people and members should not be left at their own mercy to be introduced during forming stage

2. If Responsibilities and roles are well defined during the storming stage, there would be less conflicts

3. Manager should listen to all the members and should not be focussed on one. this will make members feel important and they will give their 100% without having conflicts during norming stage

4. Manager should give reviews and motivation to those who perform well during the performing stage

5. During adjourning, team manager should give reviews and feedback so that team members are aware of the shortcomings as well as their strengths.

Part 3

The juror who went against the group think based his arguments on facts and was not willing to take decisions in haste considering his social responsibility. He was challenging the decision and ready to discuss which many members of the Group were uncomfortable at.

There was a situation in work place when we were having discussion on feasibility of the project. People were interested in taking up risk and carrying the out the activities. I put up facts and figures and proved with them that risk everytime wont bring returns.
