Explanation / Answer

Answer:

I will talk about a movie named 'Sairat', which is an Indian movie made in marathi language. Briefly, the movie is about a low-caste, poor teenager boy who falls in love with an upper-caste, rich teenager girl. When the father of the girl came to know about their love, he tried to move the girl away from life of the boy, by making her to marry another boy of his choice. However, both the boy and girl eloped. They reached in another city where they tried to start their life newly. After sometime, they got married and started to live happily and were raising a kid. However, the father of the girl came to know about the whereabouts of the couple. He then send his brothers and son to get them killed. These people, in the guise of accepting their relationship, reached their home and when the couple's kid went out of the house with neighbor, they seized the opportunity and killed the couple. At the climax, the couple is seen lying in the pool of blood with their throats slashed. Their kid reaches home and after seeing his parents in such condition, walks out of the house crying.

The movie is trying to argue about the ages old caste system in Indian Society and how it is a deterrent in it's overall development. The society still don't accept such love which is against the, so called, caste culture. The lower caste people are supposed to live in the dirt only and they are not supposed to brush their shoulders with upper caste people.

This movie attempt to pursuade the audience to take necessary steps to remove the caste barrier in Indian Society. This movie wants the society to give away the disrespectful caste based system and want to treat each and every person with respect. As this movie is also about teenaged love, it pursuades audience to handle such situations sensitively and with care. The teenager should be talked to by their parents and they should persuade their child to mark their priorities right, at such age.

This is the Indian movie which speak strongly through the actions of the actors and not through the acting. The actors were told to act in their original behavior and original language. They were not pressured to do any type of acting. Also, the cinematography is another strong point of this movie. All the action sequences and scenes were effectively shot, the love scenes, all the fights in the movie, the couple's struggle in the new city and new environment and lastly the climax, which speaks all about the movie itself. Further, the songs of this movie were not only melodious but also stole the hearts of the viewers and listeners, they remained at the top of the chartbusters for a long time.

I would like to discuss about the climax which was much effective part of the movie and summarized it very well. The climax was very unexpected after seeing the whole journey of the couple in the movie and the audience never expected such a climax. But the Director wanted to show the reality of Indian Society and posed it's mirror image through the climax. It showed acute and narrow mindset of Indian people and featured a brutal ending to the couple's life, which was otherwise happy in their lives.
