Define your goals or objectives for the team-building activities for the scenario.
Select two articles that discuss whether team-building activities really help. Briefly note what you learned from the articles. Did they guide you to select the best activities, or did they warn you away from certain activities?

Define your goals or objectives for the team-building activities for the scenario.
- Build up rapport among team members
- Build mutual trust among members. If not completely at least a start
- Members should find out about each other’s strengths and weaknesses. They should be able to appreciate the strengths and have an understanding view of weaknesses.
- Instil a sense of achievement among each other as they work together to achieve common goals in the activities.

Team building not only helps in specific projects but also has a wider scope in an organization.
- Team building helps one understand one’s own strengths and weaknesses as well that he/she may be unaware of
- It improves the morale of employees as they implement and succeed in these tasks.
- Team building makes people reliant on each other in order to achieve their common goal. This leads to them trusting each other in real activities as well.
- It acts as an informal way of training people. Hence it is more of play than work for people.
- Activities in a way forces the otherwise not communicative team members to come out and speak and do activities along with others.
- The result of the team building activities may not be immediate. But they do influence the participants thinking over long term.

Create three activities you will do with your team to help build cohesiveness. Be sure that you explain how you expect each activity to increase cohesiveness and help the group function more effectively.
Activity 1: Simpler one is to give small activity such as picture puzzles. There could be complicated ones as well so as to ensure each communicate with each other in order to find the solution. Provide a small picture and ask the team to make a bigger version of the picture. The nature of the activity is very simple. This makes all the team members think and pour in their ideas about how to do the task. One need not be an expert in drawing and hence all are equal in this activity which brings about equal importance to all the ideas with no one dismissing anyone’s. As the team is supposed to make one single picture, they would be inclined to talk to each other putting aside the differences that were there earlier.
Activity 2: This is more of an ice breaker game. Ask the participants to think of their life highlights till that point and then tell them to decide what is the highlight that they would like to share if they have less than one minute to live. This will bring out the participants individual, personal and professional achievements in their lives out. The team would be much more appreciative of the individual once they know of the person’s capabilities and achievements in the past.
Activity 3: Split the group in to teams and hand them over some clay and tooth picks. The task of the team is to build a tower as high as possible with the clay and toothpicks. This activity is similar to the picture puzzle activity also does not need an expert to fulfil. However, owing to restrictions in resources, it forces the participants to think out of the box designs and methods to make higher buildings. This shows the participants of each other’s creativity when it comes to handling resource constrained tasks.
