Massive change is happening in b school education through online education such as MOOCs. This is a disruption in B-school education and brings a lot of advantages and disadvantages to the stakeholders such as student, faculty and management.

I believe, highly automated systems especially in higher education can’t create highly innovative people. In higher education, we need not adopt the standard approach. Many of these universities and private institutions are early technology adopters should not ignore innovation component of students and faculty. There is the scope for mass customization in higher education. Technology in education brings advantages such as it reduces the cost of education, quality of education, flexibility and better learning experience. This also brings disadvantage such as student learning is not guaranteed, few universities dominate the space. Many universities economically not viable because the lack of scale.

Higher education, especially B-school education in the country, should take the lead in mass customization and that is the future. We can’t ignore this requirement and universities need to redefine their goals and strategic objectives in a changed technology scenario.
