Issue of cultural sensitivity and adaptability to local needs is the biggest challenge, any managed care organization faces to successfully achieve the objectives. This challenge can be overcome by taking following initiatives as a part of strategic approach:
Above strategic initiatives will help MCOs to develop their understanding of the local market. Also, people will start recognizing MCOs’ efforts towards their care and well beings. It will strengthen the bonding and MCOs will achieve their objectives.
Other issues such as lack of standard coding system is also a major challenge but it can be overcome by implementing proper coding plan. Though, it will not ensure the success unless cultural sensitivity is not understood and managed. Thus, issue of cultural sensitivity and adaptability to local needs must be addressed to be successful.
