Four popular approaches in job design are:

Job Rotation: Job rotation refers to moving employees from job to job, it remove the boredom and add new skills to employees. When a employee have a long experience of doing same job from many years than an additional duty would assign to them so that employee skills increase and providig more flexibilty in staff and workflow. Employees with wider range of skills would ease management to schedule their work and filling vacancies. It has its drawback as employees take more time to set and work in new field and sometimes it it can demotivate employyes who look to take specific responsibilites in their specialization.

Job Engineering:This method of job design focus on task to be performed, workflow among employees, methods followed and the efficeincy of product or service flow through the process.There is no attention paid to the employees or it is a lack in design process.

Job Enlargement: It refers to the expansion of task performed by a employee in same job. Like if a computer teacher teaching basic computer knowledge and aditional task assign to teach microsoft basic and windows 7 with it.An enlarge job can motivate an employee for five reasons:

4. Job Enrichment: It means to add few more motivators to a job to make it more rewarding. A job is enriched when it is more exciting, creative and challenging and gives more decision making and planning power to job holder. Focus and responsibility are the main parts of enrichment. It has following characteristic:
