From the graph, find the volume of base needed to reach the first equivalence point. b 2. Subtract the volume of NaoH needed to reach the first equivalence from that needed reach the second equivalence point. Use this as the volume of the base. 3. Find the moles of base 4. Write and balance the equation for the reaction between the acid used and NaOH 5. Calculate the moles of acid required to react with the calculated moles of NaoH. 6. Determine the concentration of acid in moles per liter.Explanation / Answer
The equivalence points would be the point of infection
First equivalence point would the first point of inflections, where as second point of inflection would the last point of inflection
1. Volume of base needed is that volume of NaOH at which first point of inflection occurs . that is at pH 6 the corresponding volume is approximately 11 ml.
2) volume needs to reach second equivalent point is approximatly 18 ml ( obtained from second inflection point that is at pH 7.)
Volume of the base = 18-11 = 8 ml
