Molarity of Acetic Acid3mol/L (M) Molecular Weight of Acetic Acid (HC2H 02)- tol.g/mol (4 Significant Figures) Mass Percent (%) HC2H3O2 in Sample- 81 % (3 Significant Figures) Post Lab Questions (Show Your Work): Q1. Calculate the followin n, [H3O"], and hydroxide ion, [OH] l problems What is he hydroxide ion concentration, [OH], when the hydronium ion concentration, a) b) What is the hydronium ion concentration, [H3O*], when the hydroxide ion concentration c) What is the hydronium concentration, [HO*], in a solution with a pH of 8.15; (pH- d) What is the hydroxide concentration, [OH], in a solution with a pH of 9.75; (pH 9.75). [H3O"], equal 3.25 × 10-8 M: [H3O+] = 3.25x 108 M? [OH'], equal 4.11 × 1010 M: [OH'] = 4.11 × 10""M? 8.15)

Explanation / Answer

(a)

Using relation for ionic product of water:

[H+]*[OH-] = 10-14

Putting values:

[3.25*10-8]*[OH-] = 10-14

Solving we get:

[OH-] = 3.077*10-7 M

(b)

Using relation for ionic product of water:

[H+]*[OH-] = 10-14

Putting values:

[H+]*[4.11*10-10] = 10-14

Solving we get:

[H+] = 2.43*10-5 M

(c)

Using relation:

[H+] = 10-pH

Putting values:

[H+] = 10-8.15 = 7.08*10-9 M

(d)

Using relation:

pOH = 14 - pH = 14-9.75 = 4.25

Using relation:

[OH-] = 10-pOH

Putting values:

[OH-] = 10-4.25 = 5.62*10-5 M

Hope this helps !
