Question

Based on the balanced equation

calculate the number of K2O formula units formed when 12 K atoms and 4 O2 molecules react?

6.022×1023 mol-1

Based on the balanced equation,

C4H8 + 6O2 4CO2 + 4H2O

calculate the molecules of H2O formed when 186 molecules of O2 are reacted.

Based on the balanced equation

4K + O2 2K2O

calculate the number of K2O formula units formed when 12 K atoms and 4 O2 molecules react?

Molar Mass (g/mol) K 39.098 O2 32.000 K2O 94.195 Avogadro's No.

6.022×1023 mol-1

Based on the balanced equation,

C4H8 + 6O2 4CO2 + 4H2O

calculate the molecules of H2O formed when 186 molecules of O2 are reacted.

Molar Mass (g/mol) C4H8 56.108 O2 32.000 CO2 44.010 H2O 18.015 Avogadro's No. 6.022×1023 mol

Explanation / Answer

1)

from reaction,

1 O2 molecule react with 4 K atoms

So,

4 O2 molecules will need 4*4 = 16 K atoms

but we have just 12 K atoms

So, K is limiting reagent

from reaction,

molecules of K2O formed = (2/4)* number of K

= (2/4)*12

= 6

Answer: 6
