Explanation / Answer

The new cell would theoretically show a higher absorbance becausethere is a longer pathlength. The longer the pathlength, themore light the cell could absorb. Another conclusion that could be drawn is that the concentration ofthe unknown solution was lower than the concentration of thestandard because the particles in the solution have more area tospread out over due to the increased pathlength. Personally, I would go with the second solution. But you canuse either or both.
