Question

What is true for the reaction? Based ONLY on the information given below?

a) delta G is +

b) delta G is -

c) delta s is +

d) delta s is -

e) the reaction is an elimination

So if their was a exogonic graph of the reaction then delta G would be negative, but sinceits an addition reacttion, it restrricts the freedom of movement of two molecules by joining them together, the product has less randomness than the reactants and delta s has a negative value. if the reaction was elimination, then delta s would be positive, according to my textbook.

SO WOULD DELTA S BE NEGATIVE AS THE ANSWER? (d)

Explanation / Answer

a,d
