Essay (1 Point) 1. Explain the difference between an ionic bond and a covalent bond. Ionic bond as the name suggests is the bond formed by the transfer of ion i.e. electrons. It is formed between a metal ans non-metal. Usually, a metal looses an electron and a non-metal gains an electron to complete their valence shell. eg. NaCl is formed when Na donates an electron and Cl accepts one. Covalent Bond is formed by sharing of electrons between two non-metals. This is done to attain full outer energy level.
