Question
I was given this graph and we had to do some tests in class to see what kind of functional groups are present. I know this has an aldehyde functional group because I had to confirm that before I could proceed in the other tests. It also tested positive for Chlorine through sodium fusion. I'm guessing a benzene ring exists because it is near 7-8. The melting point was taken to be above 200 degrees Celsius using the 2,4 DNPH test and the only aldehyde that was indicated was p-chlorobenzaldehyde. I'm not sure if this is correct because I do not see any other peaks for the aldehyde position of the graph so it may be wrong? Here is a picture of the graph.

Explanation / Answer
Its para chlro benzaldehyde only , please look at your spectrum clearly near to 10ppm there was peak merged with line that should be you aldehyde peak so what i conclude is that it was parachloro benzaldehyde only
