the organs of respiration are different in different animals
1] In humans = The lungs are used for respiration
2] Skin = some animals such as amphibians & earthworms can use their skin to exchange gases between the external environment & the circulatory system
3] Gills = Fish & other aquatic animals use gills to take up oxygen dissolved in the water & diffuse carbon dioxide out of the bloodstream

Evidense for lungs =The humans respiratory system of which the lungs are the largest component is the most high tech air purification & conditioning system on earth .
